Readme for the Beta developer snapshot of the chart reimplementation (Milestone 9)
The chart reimplementation is still ongoing. Be aware that this version is a Beta and still contains a lot of bugs, missing features and maybe incompatibilites. So don't use it for important work. If you create documents with this version do not distribute or keep them as they might not be correctly loaded in official builds. As this is a developer snapshot build it should not conflict with your normal OpenOffice.org version on your computer.
Be aware of this problem:
This build does suffer from the error 69725 OOo crashes whenever the icon-set is switched to "Crystal". Please do not change the icon set to "Crystal" if you have a different one. For KDE users "Crystal" is the default. Therefore, the chart2 beta will crash there immediately when started. We are working on this problem and provide a respin of the chart2 beta developer snapshot soon. Stay tuned, and sorry for the inconveniences.
A respin of the beta is now available at the chart website where this bug is fixed.
How to install:
Just extract and start:
Windows:
Just exrtact the zip file to YOUDIRECTORY and start YOUDIRECTORY\openoffice_chart2_milestone9\program\soffice.exe
Linux:
Just exrtact the tar.gz file to YOUDIRECTORY and start YOUDIRECTORY/openoffice_chart2_milestone9/program/soffice
Solaris:
Just exrtact the tgz file to YOUDIRECTORY and start YOUDIRECTORY/openoffice_chart2_milestone9/opt/openoffice.org2.0/program/soffice
How to deinstall:
Just remove the directory to which you extracted.
