Hm, i think enhancement matched better. But, if i choose the Object Properties of an Line i only espect this Properties only. I suppose, but this really isn't a line, its a regression, an object by itself. In excel you can easily just select the trendline and reformat it. In the least, there should be a way to remove it from the graph, such that you can apply a new regression from scratch. Trying to delete/cut, as I said previously gives an error "This function cannot be completed with the selected objects". This forces me to make an entirely new graph, just to try out different types of regressions for the supplied data... If I am simply missing how to do this (I searched around in the application for about an hour, and through the supplied help and found nothing), please let me know. andrew@andrewpangborn.com The key is to select the data series on the chart and not the regression line. Depending on the the overlap between regression line and data series, this can be nearly impossible. If you can't get at the data series with the mouse, select the regression line and then hit the Tab key once - now the data series should be selected. Right-click and choose "Object properties" and you should get the dialog box with the Statistics tab you're looking for. Thank you trevdiggy. That seems to work alright. On a side note, is there any way to get an equation for the regression of the line? I don't know of any easy way to display the equation of the regression curve, although I think this same topic was batted about on the discuss@openoffice.org mailing list (subscribe here: http://www.openoffice.org/mail_list.html) and the answer was that there is no built-in way to do this. Which is a big drawback, IMO. However, a search for 'regression equation' in the users@openoffice.org mailing list archive <http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/SummarizeList?listName=users> revealed a site with all kinds of macros for adding cool functions to OOo. It's a great list to search/subscribe to for getting answers to OOo problems. Here's an URL that will take you directly to the OOo Statistics package: http://ooomacros.org/user.php#106652 It adds a lot of the same functionality as the Analysis Toolpak in MS Office. It won't add the equation to your graph, but you may be able to use it to find the equation and then just insert an equation on top of your graph manually. Good luck. Hi vhockey86, you pointed to valid useability problems. I will take care of this issue. Thanks. Ingrid accepted changed prio and target *** Issue 76160 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** ->bm, please take over as you are near that area in the next time. correcting summary ;-) Changing target to 3.0, as a thorough fix for this takes too much time at the moment. In CWS chart17 there are two improvements: 1. You can add a trendline with a context menu item of the data series, which is a linear regression. Changing its type still works via the object properties of the data series, which is indeed sub-optimal. Problem here is that the current controls contain the different types as well as "none", which would not make much sense for the properties of the curve itself. 2. You can delete a regression curve with the delete key. changed summary Please check this new feature against the spec given in "URL". fixed in CWS chart19 Created attachment 51528 [details]
