Description bremedios 2007-09-19 07:40:28 UTC
The new charting tool would be greatly improved by the addition of an SVG export
mode. How so? Not only would they provide resolution independence but SVG
documents can support dynamic behaviour such as mouse-over and tooltips that can
provide greater drill-down detail than mere static charts can provide. Users can
generate charts that can be placed on web pages where viewers can hover over any
interesting datapoints and bring up any additional details on it.

In bug 112829 I did just commit a patch that allows graphics, including charts, to be copied out of Calc in SVG format. Once you copy the chart, you should be able to paste it into and save it with any other suitable application.

Does that solution work for you? Can this bug be closed?

If you happen to use Windows, you can try one of my Test Builds:
