Description whimsy 2009-04-21 17:45:41 UTC
I created a pie chart in a spreadsheet, and placed in one worksheet. It uses
one column for numbers and another for lables, with 9 items.
The sheet is saved in XLS 97/2000/XP format.
I also created a copy of the chart on another worksheet (pulling data from the
other worksheet)

On the screen, both versions of the chart look the same.

In hardcopy, the chart has the "pie" printed horizontally mirrored compared to
the screen.

The color key labels appear on the right side of the pie in both cases and are
the same.

I have not tried any other permutation of open office version/platform/etc.

I did check--Using MS Excel 2000 (in a parallels virtual PC on my Mac) I see the
same orientation as the screen orientation. So I suspect that the printout is
"wrong"

Could you please attach a document that shows the problem? Thanks!

I only have one printer; it is a HP 3210 Ink jet printer, connected over
ethernet. (I find both network (ethernet) and Bonjour driver connections exist.
I expect I used the bonjour driver, but I am not sure. I have no real way to
test other printers.

My attempts to print to a PDF have generated a file with the correct orientation.

I also had the sheet print in landscape, and the file I attached lost this
setting before I uploaded it. (I copied one worksheet which had the chart into
a new file to make my example more simple)

I am sorry, I cannot reproduce the problem. I have not the same printer as you
have, but printing the attached file withh OOo 3.0.1 on mac with a different
printer works fine.

Hi,

I've had something similar on Windows 2000 with a Software used for Hotels. It
was a HP Printer connected over the Ethernet. The problem in this case was a
setting in the Printer Driver which makes the print mirrored.

Don't ask me which setting on which tab in the Printer dialog it was, I can't
remember and I do not have any access to such a Printer any longer.
