Description Unknown 2002-12-17 17:55:51 UTC
I created a simple spread sheet with a matrix of data. Then I tried making
charts of the data. The 3D feature looked promising. Then as I tried
manipulating the chart, the entire PC would hang. Not even ctrl-alt-del would
work. Sometimes the crash would occur when doing something as simple as trying
to scroll left-right.

I tried saving the file as .xls and then reloading. Yes the problem still
occurs. This file can be shared with anyone who wants to investigate the
problem.

I put the same spread sheet on a Linux machine. When working with the
charts, there were occasional pauses in the response to the mouse.
After a second or two, it came back. The harddrive was making noises
during the "pauses", so probably there was some access of swap space.

Reproducable (at least on my PC) way to make crash:
*  Open file
* Move to right so charts are displayed on screen.
* Use mouse with either the horizontal or vertical scroll bars to
reposition the displayed image.
* Move mouse back and forth rapidly. For me, the PC totally hangs
within a few seconds.

There is no problem when spread sheet is repositioned so only cells,
but no charts are being displayed.
There is no problem with same file on Red Hat Linux 8.0

It sounds like a problem with your Grafics-Driver. Disable Open GL
support, maybe it helps. For further information please use only the
