When creating a chart in Calc, you follow 4 steps:

1) Chart Type
2) Data Range
3) Date Series
4) Chart Element

In the chart element section, you can specify Title/Subtitle/Axis labels, choose
where the legend is and so on. However, if you create a chart without specifying
them (for example, if you forget to place your Y-axis label), there is no way to
add it once you've finalized your chart; you must recreate the chart from scratch.

After entering chart editing mode, use Insert | Title to add a chart title and
axis labels.  No need to start over on my system.

Ah. Thanks for pointing that out. It would still be nice to have it on the
right-click menu.

Pls feel free to file an Enhancement-issue for your needs, but I doubt that such
enhancement would be accepted. Context menus contain frequently needed
funcitons, and I doubt that "Insert title" is needed really often ...

Well, from the user's perspective, I'd certainly expect that option to be found
in the chart's context menu, since you are usually able to access everything
from a right click in Office. Not the "Insert title"/"x-axis", but certainly the
"Chart elements" options.

Re-opened as an enhancement.

I changed the summary to reflect the more defined request now.
I think that it is a valid request and it would be good to have this in the
context menu.

The context menu was reworked completely within CWS chartuseability01.
All details can be found in the specification:

For this issue the entries 'Insert Titles...', 'Insert Legend' and
'Insert/Delete Axes...' have been added to the context menu in case chart area,
chart wall or floor or nothing is selected.

Sophie, please verify in CWS chartuseability01 that the additional entries are
available in the context menu as described in chapter 1.1 of the context menu
specification:
