Description robbk 2009-06-19 10:27:02 UTC
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a pie chart in Calc (see attached documents Prob1333.ods and
Prob1333.ods.png).
- Copy the chart to the clipboard with Ctrl-C.
- Paste the chart into an Impress slide with Ctrl-V.
- Paste the chart into the Impress slide again, this time with "Edit > Paste
Special > GDI metafile" (see attached documents Prob1333.odp and
Prob1333.odp_1.png).
- Start a Slide Show. The 2 charts have different colors (see attached document
Prob1333.odp_2.png).
- End the slide show. The 2 charts have the same colors again.
- Print the document on a color printer. The 2 charts have different colors.
- Double-click the first image. The colors change (and the edit window is
offset). See attached document Prob1333.odp_3.png).
- Click outside the edit frame. The 2 charts have different colors (see attached
document Prob1333.odp_4.png).
- Double-click the GDI metafile image. The colors don't change. This is our
workaround for the moment.

This was tested in:
OOo 3.0 Novell Edition
OOo 3.1 Novell Edition
OOo 3.1 standard edition

The behavior was the same in all 3 versions.

I checked with "Ooo 3.1.0 WIN XP multilingual version German UI activated
[OOO310m11 (Build 9399)]" and can confirm the reported effect.

Some further tests showed that the problem only appears if the colors have been
changed from default to other colors in the source spreadsheet. In the chart the
colors change back to the default colors. So the effect will not appear when you
copy/paste a chart without any modifications of the default colors.
Problem is also visible in DRAW, bot not for charts copied to WRITER.

It's even worse with "Ooo Dev 3.2.0 multilingual version English UI WIN XP:
[DEV300m50 (Build 9406)]". Using that version the non-default-colors get back to
standard immediately when I copy/paste chart to IMPRESS or DRAW. We will have to
watch that in Issue 98319

Reproducible. Reassigned.
Comment 10 robbk 2009-07-01 10:58:13 UTC
Is changing the assignment and target milestone of a duplicate issue valid?
Comment 11 IngridvdM 2009-07-02 17:25:29 UTC
Usually owner or target of a duplicate issue is of no special interest. If the
duplicate state is correct, the issue will be closed anyhow. Issue 98319 is
going to be fixed with OOo 3.2.
