Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 105263
Vista file picker: SetFolder in Save as dialog fails
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:28:55 UTC
The fix from issue 103566 contains a small, but annoying bug. See attached patch. @cd: If you can, please include this as a fix for OOo 3.2.

cd->hennerdrewes: Thanks for your patch Henner. Could you please provide a reproducible scenario which can be verified by QA and other people? We passed code freeze and therefore I have to nominate every issue as a show stopper. I have to provide information about severity of the issue and what impact the fix could have.
In order to reproduce, you have to open a document, which resides in a folder, that has *not* been accessed by the Open/Save As file picker recently. Steps to reproduce: 1. Put a document in an "exotic" folder, to make sure that this folder hasn't been accessed recently. 2. To circumvent the open file picker, open that document by double-clicking the file in Windows Explorer. 3. Choose File, Save as... Result: The file picker displays its last accessed folder. Expected: The file picker should display the folder in which the current document resides. Impact: As a wrong folder is unexpectedly displayed, there is a high probability to save files other places you have intended to. Happened to me several times during the last days and you end up searching for you files... The Vista file picker fixes included in 3.2 have improved the usability of the file picker noticeably, but unfortunately this bug is able to spoil the user experience by violating a very basic behavior.
cd->hennerdrewes: Thanks for your detailed description. I will set this issue on the show stopper list. Hopefully the release team will accept this issue. cd: Set issue to target OOo 3.2.
cd: Set keyword regression as this issue was introduced during the work to improve the Vista/Windows 7 file dialog.
cd: Fixed on CWS fwk118.
cd->sba: Please verify issue. You find a detailed step by step procedure from Henner to verify the fix.
Verified in CWS fwk118.
