Add bubble help to show the location/data on the Y-axis when moving the mouse
over a point on a line graph.

If you enter the edit mode of the chart (e.g. by doubleclicking) a bubble help
will be shown while on a data point. Is this what you would like to see in
non-edit-mode also? Then this issue might be a duplicate to issue 5691. Or are
you looking for something different?

It's not 5691 but it exactly what you describe when you edit the chart.
I think showing that without having to edit the chart would be useful.

This Issue requires more information ('needmoreinfo'), but has not been updated
within the last year. Please provide feedback as requested and re-test with the the latest version of OpenOffice - the problem(s) may already be addressed.

Please report back the outcome of your testing, so this Issue may be closed or
progressed as necessary - otherwise the issue may be Resolved as Invalid in the
future.
