Y error bars (standard deviations, etc.) are normal option for most of the chart
types. However, when 3D view is selected Y bars disappear. It would be nice to
have error bars in 3D histograms (boxes, cylinders), since bars a vital
requirement for an academic presentation of data and 3D look gives very
eye-pleasing result. The feature will stimulate the use of 3D look in more
formal environments.

3D charts are likely to fool the eyes and are therefor not used so commonly in science world. So I wouldn't give this feature a high priority.
