Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 117838
black borders around symbols are wanted back again
Last modified: 2013-09-25 20:42:05 UTC
Since OOo 3.3 symbols in line or scatter chart do not have any borders anymore. These are wanted back again: http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=40097
Please make this setting optional like in MS Excel where you can set each item (line and background) separately. It will improve the readability of charts. Isn't there any user experience feedback before implementing changes like the report 109771??? This is clearly a case where 50% users want it and the other 50% don't.
ODF 1.2 allows additional standard symbols. One of those is a circle. Without a border, such circles are always filled, but in mathematics filled and unfilled circles are needed to indicate, whether the end point of a line belongs to the line or not. Other standard symbols in ODF1.2 are X, Plus, Horizontal-bar, and Vertical-bar. Those symbols have no filling at all in the view of users and it should be possible to define a border color for them.
Duplicate to issue 64728?
Issue 64728 is more general. It might be that it is easier to fix only this worse problem quicker than the general feature including the fill area, so I would keep this issue for now.
getting rid of value "enhancement" for field "severity". For enhancement the field "issue type" shall be used.
