Description philmperry 2003-08-07 21:40:22 UTC
On most charts (except pie/ring/net) there is a Y-axis title, which is rendered
vertically (rotated counterclockwise 90 degrees). If you try to edit that title,
the editing is (temporarily) done horizontally, which makes for a mess with the
(unreadable)new title being typed in over the Y-axis numbers and even over the
graph itself. I would suggest that the entry field for editing be turned
counterclockwise 90 degrees (to match the existing and changed titles). This
would leave a clear field for editing. If it is too difficult to build a rotated
text entry primitive in the UI, I suggest an alternative: pop up a window with
the text entry field, and let the user do their typing and editing there.

Typing horizontal is easier and should keep. But, as you mentioned,
the problem is, that the text at editing gets unclear, because the
background of the text is not opaque, as it should. That could be
filed as defect.
