Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 19075
ghostdialogue when trying to insert two charts at the same time
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:20:42 UTC
Try the following: - create two new calc-files (no need to safe, you only need two open Application windows) - type some data in both spreadsheets - select a cellrange in sheet1 and insert a chart - skip the 1st dialogue of the chart wizard but keep the 2nd open - switch to your second spreadsheet, select a cellrange and insert a chart - of course, this won't work but if you switch back to the 1st spreadsheet, you will end up with two chart-wizard dialogues one of them completely unusable (so I called it "gohstdialogue" This gost vanishes if you close the first chartwizard. This has also been reported for Windows. Some said, the userinterface became totally unusable after the gost appeared, but nobody could reproduce this behaviour.
Hi Björn, as discussed, for you. tk
The chart auto-pilot consists of two different dialogues, where usually one of them is hidden. In OOo 2.0 we will have only one dialogue, so this problem does no longer occur. But there is a second problem with all modal dialogues in OOo. If you open any modal dialog in a document, and then open the same dialog in a different document, you will get only one dialog which can no longer be used, i.e. user input is ignored. (Seen on Unix. On Windows, the handling is also a bit awkward).

according to the announcement on releases (http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=releases&msgNo=7503) this issue will be re-targeted to OOo Later.
Closing as "Worksforme" , as there is no way to open 2 Chart- dialogues in 1.1.3 or m56 anymore. Unfortunately the fix introduced a new, even worse bug (I'll fle another Issue for that)
