Description Unknown 2003-09-14 11:34:05 UTC
An XY chart with subformat "Lines Only" is saved as
"Symbols and Lines" in Excel format.
Saving in native format is correct.
Added symbols are shown both by Excel and scalc.
Possibly related to issue 6496.

Hi Bjoern,
for you.

I'll take a look (ACCEPTED)
Comment 3 bjoern.milcke 2003-10-31 11:18:12 UTC
BM->DR: It looks like the filter would not set the chart type
correctly. The XDiagram has a property "SymbolType" (see service
XYDiagram/LineDiagram) which is "-3" meaning NONE. In this case the
sub-chart type should change to "no symbols"
Comment 4 daniel.rentz 2003-11-10 14:52:38 UTC
The property "SymbolType" of the diagram returns -3, as expected, but
the same property from a single data row returns 0, and this is used
to export the series. The return type should be -3 for all data rows
and data points in charts without symbols.
Comment 5 bjoern.milcke 2003-11-10 16:00:03 UTC
Ok, I will check this.
Comment 6 bjoern.milcke 2003-11-13 16:48:44 UTC
data points and series now return -3 (NONE) for symbol type, if the
chart type has no symbols.

Fixed in CWS sch7pp2

Please verify (sch7pp2 is on cwsserver 3).

Export Selection in Excel is none.
Import Selection in Calc is wrong.

Fixed import and export of line charts and XY charts (CWS FIX645/sch7pp2).

On Excel import: Correct setting of chart type according to visibility of lines
and symbols (did not work for symbol-only XY charts too). Problem was that the
chart type dialog did not show the correct chart type.

On Excel export: Correct setting of chart type according to visibility of lines
and symbols, and spline type. Problem was that Excel's chart type dialog did not
show a selection in the chart type area.

I will attach a test document containing all line/XY chart types. Note that a
line chart without lines (symbols only) is a user-defined type, and therefore
Excel correctly shows no selection in its dialog, in difference to a
symbols-only XY chart.
