Description svenw 2004-06-14 19:52:19 UTC
I wanted to import in the csv Format into calc. The datas use english (point)
notation while I use German notation (comma. The datas are seperated by spaces.
Most of the datas have the format 0.xxxxxx and some 0.xxx. The import funktion
messes with datas with 3 digits after the point. It just ignores the 0 and the
point. I checked the the datas in the preview and there isn't an additional
space in the number.
the file mentioned in the url is the file Iwant to import.
Substituting the points with comma either in some editor or in the writer solves
the problem.

Hi, try this feature of the csv-import.dialog: In the preview click on to the
columnhead to activate the column. The list "Column type" will be enabled and
you can choose "US English" for that column.

Hello,

I experienced the same problems with OOo2.4.1 on a Vista SP1 box. Yes, I could
handle it using the mentioned way from regina. But I'd like to know, why this
happens, because the behaviour is confusing and for a normal user its just like
a bug.
