Hard to describe. Please look at the attached document for an example...

Using the chart diagram "Linien und gestapelte Säulen" (something like "lines
and stacked columns") then the right most connection between the last two data
points is missing.

Switching the data type to something else fixes the problem..

Yes, i see. But the behaviour is correct. What you are expected? The Column "N"
in your example is empty. Not Null or an other value. So its not possible (and
it will be wrong if) to draw a connection line. 
So i close this issue.

ok, BUT

 * why is the green line working (it has a "" in Column "N", too)?
 * why is the second diagram working?

I do think, this is a bug.

Yes, it was a bug into OOo 1.1.3. But is fixed into the actual version.
My description matched on the latest version, sorry for the confusion.
