Description coryoth 2005-03-20 05:10:27 UTC
Calc crashes while trying to edit the colour of a data series in a chart using
OpenOffice.org 2.0 beta on Fedora Core 2 (x86). Steps to reproduce:

Open Calc.
Fill 2 columns with random numeric data
Select columns and hit chart button on toolbar
Select all defaults.
Create chart on current sheet.
Repeat:
Double click on a data series 1 to get data series dialog.
In the dialog select the "area" tab.
Change the color and click "Okay"

After 2 or 3 repetitions the application will crash. Note that the colour of
the bars on the chart often does not change to the color selected.

I have had the same results changing the line color of line charts.

Hi, could not reproduce with m86.
Please be so kind to attach a sample file for starting..
Also m87 is worth rechecking if you have a moment to spare,
Thank you,

Successfully reproduced on m87 on my machine using the attached spreadsheet.
Specifically I tried to alter the colour of the "area" for the the first (pale
blue) data series to "blue2". The first time nothing happened (the colour did
not change). I tried again to change the data series colour to "blue2" and the
program crashed.

sorry, cannot reproduce with m86 on SuSE 9.2 using Window manager 'fvwm'.

selecting 'blue_2' is working for the first time, and subsequently changing
colors does not crash the system.

fvwm 2.5.10 compiled on Oct 4 2004 at 19:34:01

What distro do you use? Window manager? Any special graphics hardware? Which driver?

Sorry, I'll be as specific as I can.

I am running Fedora Core 2, Xorg X server with nVidia driver version 1.0-6629 on
a GeForce4 mobile. I'm using the standard GNOME setup for Fedora with
ClearLooks theme and Metacity 2.8.1. I've tested it under BlueCurve theme
(default for Fedora) and get the same results. I've tried changing to different
colours, and all that I tried produced a crash after 1 to 3 attempts to change
the colour.

Comment 7 flibby05 2005-03-24 19:23:11 UTC
can anybody with FC2 reproduce this issue?
thanks, Max
Comment 8 kla 2005-03-31 09:37:08 UTC
-> Max: Can't reproduce with m87 and m89 on FC3.
->coryoth: the colour for the first data series isn't pale blue its violet.
I think we should close this issue.
Any comments?
Comment 9 flibby05 2005-03-31 10:53:18 UTC
@kla: did you use the same environment as reporter did?
>> GNOME setup for Fedora with ClearLooks theme and Metacity
Comment 10 kla 2005-03-31 12:44:38 UTC
->Max: Nearly. Metacity 2.8.6 and Bluecurve. But instead a GeForce 4 i using a
Matrox mga 400.
Comment 11 flibby05 2005-03-31 18:19:48 UTC
ok, but i think what matters is that the window manager was 2.8.6 to 2.8.1.
I am closing this issue now, because updating to FC3 does not pose licencing costs.

coryoth, if you can reprocude the issue with a recent milestone build and - at
that time - a recent distro, please file a new issue with a quick reference to
this one.

Thank you for supporting us!
