Description marcusyeo 2005-04-11 04:07:24 UTC
I'm trying to change and save the chart type from a normal one to columns and
lines. But everytime, when re-opening the document, it will revert back to the
old chart type.
Comment 1 marcusyeo 2005-04-11 04:11:28 UTC
It only happened when trying to save from a normal chart-type to a column and
lines chart type. Other chart types are ok.
Comment 2 frank 2005-04-11 07:25:37 UTC

Hello,

I have attached a document on how to produce the problem.

Caught! ;-)
Thanks to your really nice(!) step by step description I could see that you
saved the document as .xls Excel file. Obviously Excel does either not support
this kind of diagram (I don't know ...) or there is a bug in either .xls import
or export in OOo.
If you have Excel you can maybe get the answer yourself: Is this chart type
possible there? How does your "corrupt" file show up when loaded into Excel?
Let us know the results. Thanks.

Anyway, if you save the document as .ods and then reload it, the information
remains stored.

I tried opening the document with excel viewer. The chart type is still the old
one. It seems that there might be a bug export in OOo.

I also tried saving first as openoffice document (chart type is hey ok) then
followed excel document. The result is still the same.

I think the bug is only when exporting to excel document.

Congratulation! Best Bug description of the decade.
Daniel, i think it's yours.
Comment 9 daniel.rentz 2005-04-18 09:31:45 UTC
Export of combination charts is not implemented in the Excel filters. This will be
done when the new chart engine exists. Target -> Later.
Comment 10 daniel.rentz 2005-10-06 11:42:16 UTC
