Description Unknown 2002-05-14 13:58:04 UTC
Open Office Calc immediately crashes after opening the attached two MS Excel
spreadsheets which have charts in them. The screen freezes, and all open
instances of SOffice also stop responding. If you watch the memory counter in
Task Manager, you see it slowly creep up to 45 Megs after a 2 minute period
(looks like a slight memory leak). CPU utilization of the soffice.exe process
also tops out at 100%.

I am running Windows 2000 SP2 using the Sun JRE 1.3.1.

Can reproduce this 100% of the time.

It looks like the chart finally opens after waiting 4 minutes.
Perhaps this isn't as serious as originally thought, however this is
an unusually long time to open up a simple document. The 4 mintues of
waiting is *AFTER* having Open Office Calc already open on the screen.
I go to File Open and select the document and wait. When I am
waiting for this document to open, all other Open Office processes are
on hold until this opens. I am running a Pentium 2 550 MHz machine
which should be fine for opening this document.

Hi Greg,

the current Chart implementation uses a lot of memory storing
information on each single point in the chart, so the more points, the
more memory, the more time.

As the new chart implementation is on it's way, I have to close this
Issue as WONTFIX.
