Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 55111
Title on/off button adds an unwanted default subtitle text when pushed off and on again
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:19:05 UTC
While editing a chart it is possible to turn off the Chart's title by clicking on the "activate/deactivate title" button, from the chart's toolbar. I noticed, though, that when I reactivate the title by clicking on that same button, there appears a "subtitle" text right beneath the Chart's title. From there on, even if I deactivate and activate the title button again the subtitle text won't go away - in fact I couldn't even find where i could change that default "subtitle" text.
Best you try Menu-Insert-Title (Chart inplace mode). I think it will be help.

Thanks for the tip, but the bug is still there (using version 2.0 RC3). I guess my description was a bit misleading at the end. Here's how to reproduce the problem: 1 - Create a chart (even without any data) 2 - Right-click on the chart and choose "Edit" 3 - The chart shows only the "Main Title" text by default. Now click on the "Activate/Deactivate Title" button - the "Main Title" text disappears. 4 - Click again on the "Activate/Deactivate Title" button. The "Main Title" text re-appears on the chart, but along with it comes the text "Subtitle" underneath it. After that, Menu-Insert-Title correcly reflects the current situation, with "subtitle" enabled. However, for consistency reasons, I think the "Activate/Deactivate Title" button should not enable the subtitle like it's doing, but only hide/show the previously enabled ones.
