Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 59207
Pasting of excel chart with hatching fails miserably
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:22:50 UTC
680m143 will not map existing hatching from MS Excel - the filling pattern will be set to null (empty). This is the case even when OO Chart has an existing Hatching pattern which is very close to the basic MS Office 2000 (Excel) pattern. It's surprising that "marble" works but hatching (bread'n'butter of the scientific/ dissertation community) doesn't! Only issue related that I could find is 20636. I will attach a file that displays this for you.
Created attachment 32285 [details] Calc file that shows this bug
Created attachment 32286 [details] Excel version that also shows this
I just realized the two attachments are confusing - open up the XLS file in MS Excel and select the Chart, copy it, and paste it into OO writer or Calc. The bars on the graph (which have 2 hatching patterns in Excel) will be totally blank in OO. I attached the OO file because it shows that the Hatching works OO -> Excel.
Hi Thorsten, seem to be yours. kla
Confirmed on OOo 2.1 and office 2003. win xp I dont agree that this is enhancements. Excel can open it correctly the xls. but Ooo only show black bar. Or maybe better if we change the subject to OOo fails to show the hatching.
this seems to be duplicate to issue 76481 exceptionally closing the older issue as the newer one has higher prio and target already and seems to be at the correct owner *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 76481 ***
