Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 60824
Copied chart's "Scale Text" property is always on.
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:21:19 UTC
When copy and paste a chart which "Scale Text" is off, the newer chart's "Scale Text" is turned on. It is expected that newer one has same property as older.
Confirmed with Calc, OOo v2.0.1, on PC running XP SP2. - Created a simple XY chart. - Selected chart and set 'Scale Text' to off. - Copy and pasted Chart. New chart has retained other chart settings, but 'Scale Text' is back on. Andrew
@BM: Need (or should)the copy the same properties?
The problem here, is that AutoScale is a "view-setting" which is not stored in the file. Per default AutoScale is on. Copying a chart via the clipboard works as a "Save" of the OLE object on copy and a "Load" on paste. So, on pasting, you get a freshly loaded file, thus AutoScale is on. In the new chart implementation, we changed the AutoScale to be a property of the model (rather than the view). Thus, in principle, this should work. There problem here, however, is that the ODF file format does not yet support appropriate properties to store the AutoScale information. Therefore, I set this issue to enhancement. To-do: extend the ODF specification and export the scaling information of text objects accordingly.
