I am not convinced that it is neccessary to modify the spacing for each separat
axis label like it's shown in example 4, but allowing to adjust the spacing for
all labels at one axis seems to be quite usefull to me.

Hi Tony,
How would you like to indicate the spacing:
a) Fixed values in cm or whatever unit
b) Percent value (maybe 0,5% of diagram size)
What do you expect the spacing to do if the diagram is resized?

My reponse is a) :-) but the value must change if dimensions of the graph changes
