This feature bears the great risk of unintendet data manipulation. A chart is a
tool to visualize data. It is not an editor for your data. When you would like
to type another number to your spreadsheet, than do it in your spreadsheet.
I am not willing to implement this.

Hi Ingrid :
In Excel, the value of spreadsheet is automatically modified.
It's ms_interoperability but it's not a priority
Comment 4 pagalmes.lists 2006-05-22 15:54:43 UTC
pagalmes -> iha : this feature is often asked by users. It is often useful when
you are trying to predict which value should be entered to obtain such result...
Comment 5 IngridvdM 2006-05-22 16:02:30 UTC
That sounds like cheating on results to me ...
Comment 6 pagalmes.lists 2006-05-22 16:25:19 UTC
-> iha : Sure, but it is really useful for users. You do not always want to plot
from datas. You may also want to generate data from a graph.

BTW, could be nice to create an empty chart and then create the data with drag &
drop from the diagram (but that's truly not a priority).
Comment 7 IngridvdM 2006-05-22 18:13:56 UTC
-> pagalmes : When does a user want to create data from a picture? I cannot
believe that this is a real life scenario. It sound more like testers creating
test documents.
Comment 8 pagalmes.lists 2006-05-23 08:59:10 UTC
-> iha : Yes, this was just an idea (with no real life example).
Comment 9 tony.galmiche.ooo 2006-07-28 13:00:31 UTC
This issue is always UNCONFIRMED ?
Comment 10 IngridvdM 2006-07-28 13:17:30 UTC
->Tony: I am still not convinced that this is a good feature.
Comment 11 tony.galmiche.ooo 2006-07-28 13:42:18 UTC
-> Ingrid : ok, but this feature exists in Excel. If you want, you can remove it.
Comment 12 IngridvdM 2006-07-28 13:55:34 UTC
