This feature bears the great risk of unintendet data manipulation. A chart is a tool to visualize data. It is not an editor for your data. When you would like to type another number to your spreadsheet, than do it in your spreadsheet. I am not willing to implement this.
Hi Ingrid : In Excel, the value of spreadsheet is automatically modified. It's ms_interoperability but it's not a priority
pagalmes -> iha : this feature is often asked by users. It is often useful when you are trying to predict which value should be entered to obtain such result...
That sounds like cheating on results to me ...
-> iha : Sure, but it is really useful for users. You do not always want to plot from datas. You may also want to generate data from a graph. BTW, could be nice to create an empty chart and then create the data with drag & drop from the diagram (but that's truly not a priority).
-> pagalmes : When does a user want to create data from a picture? I cannot believe that this is a real life scenario. It sound more like testers creating test documents.
-> iha : Yes, this was just an idea (with no real life example).
This issue is always UNCONFIRMED ?
->Tony: I am still not convinced that this is a good feature.
-> Ingrid : ok, but this feature exists in Excel. If you want, you can remove it.
Thanks Tony! I will close as wont fix.
