Description lars 2002-07-22 18:57:52 UTC
could you make it possible to "entkoppeln" (german) source data for chart from
chart, so that I can for example delete the source data, but the chart remains
unchanged.

That's needed when only chart is relevant and not data "character" values.

Setting cell with data to "not to print" (cell object properties) is not a
workaround, because
i) one shares doc.s also electronically and not only uses calc as preparation
for print-outs.
ii) there is a "defect" associated with "un-printed" cells, making
this "workaround" lead the user to reorganise cells in a peculiar way to get
the impression one wants. (issue 6309)

Then still retain the possibility to change chart data by having a context menu
entry "change source data" or sth similar (or the icon, if available correctly
(see issue 6302)) which makes a window pop up in which the source data values
are and can be edited.

Thanks, Lars

Hi Lars,

clear answer No, if you mean Chart in Calc. To achieve something like
this, create a chart in Calc, place it in the clipboard, paste it into
a draw and copy it again. Now oaste it into your spreadsheet. The
chart data get it's own data container and the chart data dialog is
available.

And no we do not implement it, as this was a bugfix.

Please have a look at :
