Description tony.galmiche.ooo 2006-07-25 11:27:52 UTC
Under Excel, 3D charts are not displayed as real 3D objects, but as simplified 3D

X axes is horizontal while Y axes is vertical.

I find this simplified display more readable et nicer, the rendering is less as
a staircase because most of the lines of the chart are horizontal or verticales.

It would be interesting to add this option in the 3D view to display this
rendering.

You are referring to the option 'right angle axes' in Excel is that correct?
Comment 5 tony.galmiche.ooo 2006-07-25 16:15:18 UTC
Yes, exactly.
Comment 6 IngridvdM 2006-07-25 17:45:28 UTC
Thanks Tony :-). I changed the summary accordingly.
Comment 7 IngridvdM 2006-07-25 17:59:59 UTC
added keyword ms_interoperability
Comment 8 tony.galmiche.ooo 2006-07-26 12:06:48 UTC
In complement :

1 - the option 'right angle axes' is the default option under Excel

2 - the representation in the assistant of OOo corresponds to the option 'right
angle axes'
Comment 9 IngridvdM 2006-07-26 14:36:53 UTC
Hi Tony. What do you mean with point 2?
Comment 10 tony.galmiche.ooo 2006-07-26 15:42:00 UTC
hi Ingird. In the picture of the Wizard of OOo, the X axes is horizontal and Y
axes is vertical (right angle axes)
-> Sorry for my bad english

Ah, I see. It's quite obvious. I have to appologize for my operational blindness
;-).
Yes the pictures are missleading currently.

Fixed in CWS chart06. New 3D chart are now created with right-angled-axes on per
default. For details look at the specification:

->Thomas, please verify in CWS chart06
Please also check the import/export of the new 'right-angled axes' setting to excel
and check the interactive rotation via mouse.

This issue is closed automatically and wasn't rechecked in a current version of
OOo. The fixed issue should be integrated in OOo since more than half a year. If
you think this issue isn't fixed in a current version (OOo 3.1), please reopen
