Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 71270
new chart: MS9 - data series move up/down arrows missing
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:19:57 UTC
I believe the arrows for the move up/down buttons for the data series are missing at least in windows. I am including a screen shot of what I am seeing and I would think they should be arrows.
Created attachment 40381 [details] screen shot of data series arrows
Sorry, can't reproduce. Pls try to reinstall, maybe its work fine. Otherwise feel free to reopen this issue.
I just downloaded ms9b and the problem as shown in the screen shot is still there. There's really no installation other than unzipping so I'm not sure what else I can do.
Looks like an Font problem. It is possible that you had deleted some fonds? Which fonds do you use as default?
I've never went and deleted a font on purpose and I'm not sure what you mean by "default font". Where do I set the default font and which font should it be?
@BM. I think its yours.
In your symbol font obviously the symbols 0x25b2 (up) and 0x25bc (down) are missing. The StarOffice font StarSymbol and the OOo font OpenSymbol since Version 1.15 (July 2006) contain those characters. As you don't see the symbols I assume you have an old OpenSymbol font installed in your system. The Chart2 Milestone 9 is a pre-installed version, so the newer OpenSymbol font is not installed in the system, but only available in the local share/fonts path of OOo. It looks like the system's older OpenSymbol font was used. Do you have an OOo 2.0.(1-4) installed on your system? (Installed as root, so the fonts were installed system-wide) In this case, an update to a newer version (>=2.1) would help here. As chart2mst3 Milestone 9 is just an early access preview, I would suggest to re-check this issue when you have a newer version on your system. It should then no longer appear. At least when you will install a regular OOo version containing the new chart (when chart2mst3 is finally integrated), this issue should be solved. Thanks.
I installed the OpenSymbol font from the MS9 font directory and this problem is resolved. Since you say in the release version, this font will be installed to the system automatically, I will mark this issue resolved-invalid. Thanks for your help!
