Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 71557
new chart: Wizard : Highlight the range of data automatically
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:20:31 UTC
By selecting a cell inside the table of the data and by making "Insert/Chart", the range of data is not selected as in the version current or identified by a feature into dotted (or blue) as in Excel to show the range taken into account. BM : So, the default range selection when starting the Wizard seems to be different than in the old chart implementation? But how? PAG : Yes, the blue line showing the range selected does not show-up when the wizard is launched. To reproduce it : - click on a cell from the range selected - launch the wizard Then, a blue line should appear to show which range has been automagically selected. BM : Ah, now I see, the barely visible yellow line is the blue line in reverse mode, because the cells are selected (black). In the new chart we have neither. I would suggest to either select the range with the usual selection (inverted/black cells) or with a blue border. Maybe a blue border is nicer, however it is not visible when your cells are blue. I think it should be easier to select the cells like before, and skip the blue border for the time being.

The problem always exists with Chart2m11. It's a small regression
changed prio and target according to i-team decision
fixed locally. The used cell range now is highlighted with a blue border when the wizard opens. In addition the used cell range now is highlighted when the chart is in edit mode and nothing is selected. Thus when you double click an existing chart the accessory cell range is highlighted.
The problem always exists with OOo 2.3 m213
->tony, please do not change the state of my issues. This issue is fixed in CWS chart05 which is not integrated in the master. So the state fixed was correct. Thanks.
