Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 71810
Excel chart import: fill bitmap mode
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:41:55 UTC
http://www.openoffice.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/40725/Custom2.xls background image viewed stretched in OOo 2.1. Look at the O with many color background. look stretched
@IHA: Should be fixed into the new Chart.
->dr: In excel the images are streched. For example the smarties from data point with value 895. So they don't look like circles in excel. I am not sure whether we should fix this at all, as it looks better in OpenOffice as it is now. And when stretching the images in OOo it looks worse. Please decide what you want to do with this issue.
Bitmaps are always stretched in Excel charts, regardless of the internal bitmap size mode. The only exception are bitmaps on bar data points in bar charts, where it is possible to select "stretched", "stacked", and "stacked by value". On the other hand Excel does not allow to stretch patterns or textures, which are bitmaps too internally. These bitmaps are always in "tiled" mode. Import filter has to detect the bitmap type (bitmap, pattern, texture) in combination with the chart type and object type, and to select the correct bitmap mode.

move to 3.x target according to http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Target_3x
new target
Fixed in CWS DEV300/dr78. It is possible to specify the bitmap mode (stretched/stacked) for the bar data points in bar/column charts, and for the wall and floow in 3-D charts. The import filter will ignore the bitmap mode for all other chart elements. Instead, bitmaps are always stretched, and textures are always stacked.
