Description bigserpent 2006-12-18 12:56:02 UTC
Scientific analysis requires observing and comparing of 2 and more XY charts on
the same graph. Any spreadsheet plotting application supports this kind of
graphs: MS Excel, Golden Software grapher, LabPlot (
http://labplot.sourceforge.net/ ) and so on. OO lacks this obvious feature.

Gnumeric also deals with series.
Comment 2 kla 2006-12-19 09:00:46 UTC
@Iha: Maybe a good idea for an new Charttype

Why isn't the milestone be set as 2.3 as chart 2 should be introduced in this
version?

Hi bigserpent. Could you please check wether your request is fullfilled with the
coming chart reimplementation? A preview is available for download here:
http://graphics.openoffice.org/chart/chart.html
 (current milestone 10). Thanks.

It works fine in the milestone 10. Though it's not very stable - it crashed
once, it works!
I couldn't find a way to set names manually for the series.
Comment 6 IngridvdM 2007-01-05 13:59:05 UTC
Oh - for the crash - would you mind to write a separat issue starting with 'new
chart:' for that? Thanks a lot!
Manual names for series are still not implemented. I think this is feature issue
11890. But you are now free to choose the cell from which the name should be taken.
So I think I can close this issue as duplicate to issue 3997.
