Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 72969
new Chart: The space between characters in the chart labels is too small
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:19:21 UTC
The space between characters in the chart labels of the legend is too small. The characters are one among the other.
Can you attach a screenshot? I see no significant difference between text in legend and text as data labels or cell content. (WinXP) I have tried Arial, Lucida Sans and Albany with different font sizes.

Tony, the first jpg is broken somehow. The second jpg doesn't show the legend nor data labels but only axis labels, this is confusing. How did you create the screenshot? What exactly is chart1? Could you please attach the ods file in addition. Thanks.
1 - The first jpg is broken somehow -> yes I know 2 - The second jpg doesn't show the legend nor data labels but only axis labels -> I deleted 'of the legend' in the Summary 3 - Chart1 = Chart in OOo 1.1.5 or 2.1 = old Chart 4 - Could you please attach the ods file in addition -> OK

->Tony, the document looks better with the new chart. And it does not show any values with OOo 1.1.5. Are you sure you attached the correct file? Thanks, Ingrid.
I checked with "2.2.0RC4 German version WIN XP: [680m14(Build9134)]" and did not find anything unexpected, so --> WFM @tonygalmiche Pls. feel free to reopen this issue if you find out that the problem is still existing with a current stable OOo version and if you can contribute additional information requested with 'Additional comments from iha Fri Jan 5 15:50:10 +0000 2007' and other comments..
I confirm this problem with OOo 2.3 m213 -> Not problem with OOo 1.1.5
I can't confirm the problem with OOo 2.4.0 RC1 under Kubuntu 6.06 FR. Tony, have you tried your file with current stable version ?
I can easily reproduce the reported effect with a format string #" "##0;[ROT]-#" "##0 for the numbers in the cell. May be that some general settings in tonygalmiche's OOo version (localization) use a blank instead of the dot as separator? This would be in accordance to DIN 5008. But I never saw something similar in OOo. @tonygalmiche: How do Numbers in spreadsheet cells bigger than 1000 look in your spreadsheet?
worksforme. No visible problem in 3.1.1
closing for now. Feel free to reopen if you can still reproduce in a current version of OOo.
