Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 7400
bug with chart source data interpretation ("Auto Day Change Bug")
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:18:45 UTC
see attached image! it says all! the password to undo the changes is "1" (without quotation marks). what I did in the first place was creating the chart with all 3 columns existing, but only used the last to columns (in the make chart dialogue I replaced the "A" with "B" for "B" as x-data column). the resulting chart is in a way I found it would be nice to have "AutoDayChange" because it hasn't got it. Then I deleted column A and made a chart again (the bottom chart). This bottom chart is "erroneous" again, but the first one is "good" now !! Here lays a problem... Also note: I would like the auto-day change to be actually charted using 3x24 h and not 1x24 h ....
Created attachment 2661 [details] the file !
Created attachment 2662 [details] in column A was the Day data ! (3.8 MB)
the problem seems to be: it's wrong in the first place, but if the chart updates itself once, the "problem" is gone; for example by changing a value in the source data.
Created attachment 2813 [details] a csv file with the type of content which "causes" the bug
let's hope this is fixed in the new chart module
The chart in the attached doc is a xy-chart. The data for the x-axis are only from type hh:mm:ss, that means that it is not possible to determine that there is a new day. So the xy-chart will set two data with the same time but on another day on the same spot on the axis. If you want to have it in the whished sequence you have to change the sourcedata to a dateformat with day or you have to choose a linechart. The disadvantage for the linechart is that the space between two data are always the same regardless of the amount => this issue will not be fixed.
Closed because wontfix
