Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 74248
Chart Data for charts in text document are formatted according to the first column
Last modified: 2013-09-25 20:41:53 UTC
1) Create a spreadsheet with columns: - Label (text) - Start date (date) - Duration (number) ... 2) Create a column stacked chart 3) Copy the chart and paste it in a text document 4) When you try to edit Chart Data from within the text document, column 'Duration' is shown as date and editing is impossible.
Created attachment 42808 [details] Chart in the text document (wrong Chart Data)
Created attachment 42809 [details] Chart with correct data format
@evoci: You wrote: Create a spreadsheet with columns: - Label (text) - Start date (date) - Duration (number) ... But the attached Doc Inception.ods shows only the Range $A$1:$D$19 without Duration (Column F). So the behaviour on Top 4 can't work. Pls describe more specific what you mean.
Ok, the verbal example and the file attached were referring to slightly different labels. Speaking about the attached files, consider the following: 1) In the .ods file, sheet Planning, only columns A-D are used for the chart. Remaining ones are only used for calculations. 2) In the .ods file, column B is a date, columns C-D are numbers 3) The background idea is that the .ods file is only used to initially create the graph, which then live of own life in the .odt once it is copied-pasted 4) In the .odt file, if you try to edit values in columns C-D you see that they are treated as dates, not numbers. Therefore manual change of these values after the graph is copied-pasted is impossible.
@evoci: Thanks for clarify, i kind of thought. @BM: Please have a look, especial for the new chart implementation.
