Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 75649
show formula object on cell in legend
Last modified: 2013-09-25 20:41:44 UTC
I put formula in the first row, but it is not shown in chart's legend. Testcase attached.

@IHA: Maybe a nice Idea to generate from an OLE-Object (e.g. Math) a Name for a Datarow. I support this feature. @ muxecoid: Thx for supporting OOo. Realy nice idea.
I see no way to realize this meaningful. Björn, what do you think, as you are on the data interface and legend?
I could think of having some kind of TeX-like formula string or a MathML format string that can nicely be rendered by the chart. But OLE objects in general as names of legends? Phew, that sounds crazy. Do you really want to allow another chart as a name for a dataseries? Or a presentation document or a writer document taking a whole sheet of paper in space? The idea of a series name is an identifier. Usually a string is sufficient for this. Of course in some situations it makes sense to have more possibilities like just x^2 with a superscript 2. We can think about this, but surely not to use OLE objects as a name. Btw. there is an issue for supporting subscript and superscript in titles (Issue 6521). That would also suffice for your example.
#6521 is related. In some cases just sub and sup is enough, but complete formulas in charts support would be nice to have. I do not think that this bug is duplicate, but solving it will solve #6521 as well. Thank you.
Duplicate issue 64825 ?
->tonygalmiche: No, not duplicate. That's a different thing.
