Replication:

write two columns of numbers.
select and draw a XY plot.
select the series of data
from the menu select INSERT->Statistics


Choose "Power law" "Logarithmic" or "Power"

In the legend of the graph will appear the new line with the entry but nothing
appears on the plot.

The Operating system slows down sensibly and the spreadsheet freezes and then
crashes after a while.

The "linear" regression works.
The crash does not involve the X11 window that is still open.

I can't find Statistics in Insert menu. Please clarify.
Also please submit sample document if possible.

To get statistics you can:
either double click on the line you want to make the regression.

or give focus to the inner part of the plot (not the external frame) and look
for "Statistics" under the menu "Insert"

Try regressions different from linear.
They will not plot anything.
If you give OK and then you double click again on the plot you may experience
the crash.

I tested on Win OOo2.0. Everything works fine.

Confirming with OO2.2 on WinXP - no regression line is created for log or exp 
types.
Crash is probably Mac-specific.

For OO2.3 on WinXP I cannot confirm - regression lines are created for log or exp 
types. Maybe the Mac crash has gone also? Can anyone check?

Looks fixed in 2.4m5 on WinXP - both log and exp regression lines get inserted.

mr_pipps,
please verify 2.4 when it is released and either close the issue or update.

Bug FIXED in 2.4 and OO 3.0 Beta under Win2K.
Bug can be closed.
