Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 76842
new chart : missing warning when minimum > maximum in axis scale page
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:21:22 UTC
Hello, Testing ooo_chart2_milestone11_windows\ When giving a higher minimum than maximum to an axis scale, values are accepted, switched without notification. Old chart refused the values with a message. Is it a bug or a feature ? I think it should be OK if user is informed.
->mmp: Matthias, please decide how the behavior should be in this error case when the users enters a higher minimum than maximum. 1) The new chart currently corrects the error automatically and swaps the values silently. 2) The old chart did pop up a message: 'Minimum must be lower than maximum'. And the user was forced to make the correction himself. 3) Maybe one could pop up a message, that the correction was done. I personally hate to much message boxes popping up, especially in cases where the program can correct the input automatically. But others may be irritated by silent automatic corrections.
Matthias just said: Keep the alerts when the minimum ia larger than the maximum. The spec contains a new alert text.
fixed locally
->Thomas: Fixed in CWS chart2mst3 mst12_4. Please verify. Version 2) is now implemented (like in the old chart but with a slightly different message). The specification is updated accordingly: http://specs.openoffice.org/chart/Chart_Scales_and_Intervals.odt
