Description fallen 2007-05-28 14:44:15 UTC
I am using Linux (Ubuntu Feisty Fawn) under x86 PC platform.
processor Intel Centrino 1,6 Ghz.
512 Mo of RAM
I am using the Official OOo2.2 package from Ubuntu Feisty Fawn repositories.
here is the issue :
I couldn't make a chart using OOo calc 2.2 with more than about 32 000 values
I had to do a chart of 50 0002 values.
When i tried it did nothing and just left the chart blank.
So i went on the IRC channel on Freenode. and they told me to install the last
2.3 binary package (OOo_SRC680_m213_LinuxX86_install_fr_rpm.tar.gz) which i did.
And it DOES work !
my chart is ok with its 50 002 values.
So i registered my file (using ctrl+S)
And i opened it with OOo 2.2, i try editting the chart and it crashed.
Here is the issue, thank you, you do good job :)

->bm, as you maintain the old chart, please consider whether the effort is worth
it to fix this for the old chart in a minor update. In the main trunk the
problem is fixed with the new chart already.
Comment 4 bjoern.milcke 2007-06-05 10:36:59 UTC
It is far too much effort to fix this in the old implementation. Maybe it is
possible to avoid the crash, and instead refuse to load the entire data.
Comment 5 bjoern.milcke 2007-06-26 12:49:13 UTC
->kla: I would decide to close this issue, as a fix in the old chart is too
complicated. Besides, the user scenario (to use that much data for a chart) is
not so common.
Comment 6 oc 2007-06-27 12:39:20 UTC
As this issue does only occurs in "older" versions (<2.3) and not on the current
master and the effort for fixing is (according to BM) high I close this issue as
wontfix.
Comment 7 oc 2007-06-27 12:39:52 UTC
closed because wontfix
