Description jspitz 2007-07-27 18:06:46 UTC
Win XP + OOo 680m222 both in the Czech version

I select a range of data and start the chart wizard. Then I select chart type,
titles, legend etc. After pressing the Finish button OOo hangs eating 100 % CPU.
It does not depend neither on data nor on chart type and other selected settings.

However, I can edit already existing charts normally.

@jspitz:
Sorry, but i can't reproduce it.
Pls be more precize, e.g send a step by step description and maybe attach the doc.
Is the version you've used downloaded from the official OpenOffice.org Website ?
thx

Hi.
I downloaded the OOo from this link:
ftp://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/devel/680/SRC680_m222/Build-1/OOo_2.3.0_070724_Win32Intel_install_cs.exe
which is the Czech official site for localized both stable and development builds.

I have two other similar problems with this build - when I finish a wizard the
application hangs (create chart - this issue, first run wizard - i80123, create
new database - not yet reported).

In this case I prepare some data in Calc, select them and start the chart
wizard. Here I can choose all required options. When I press finish, the dialog
window disappears and the application hangs. This behaviour is not dependent
neither on data nor on options selected in the chart wizard. I reproduced this
issue on two different PCs.

I tried also a Linux build from the same source and it works fine. This issue
seems to be Windows specific and maybe - like in the i80123 - build specific.

Regards.

@bm: I think i80123 cover this issue. Can you confirm, or is this a different prob?

I cannot reproduce this bug, although the code in the initial patch for Issue
79492 looks wrong. The second patch looks better and probably solves the problem
for all wizards (using the C++ implementation in svtools) in OOo.

It seems to suffice to have one issue for all wizards, though.

Fix for i80123 solves also this issue for me.
Thanks.
