Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 81337
charting a curve XY graph
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:20:28 UTC
I don't know if I selected the correct items above but, I downloaded your software to help me in an Economics class. My assignment was to plot a curve graph. I used your X-Y axes and after clicking several buttons, it worked. My problem, I needed to label each point on the chart. I tried clicking on the text box and the letter would always stick itself in the middle of the graph. I never could get it moved to one of the points. How do I do this? Thanks

There are two modes for charts, activated and not activated. You seem to have chosen to edit the text of the inactive chart, which is just one text box in the middle. I am not quite sure what you really want. There are three possibilities: 1. you want to modify the properties of data labels, then you have to activate the chart by double-click, 2. you want to move the labels arond: you have to wait for OOo 2.4, 3. you want to add some additional text: you should add some text objects and move them over the inactive chart or copy them to the clipboard and paste them into the active chart (where they can no longer be modified).
@sobelle00: I think it would be nice to answer the Questions from BM. Match one of the three solutions?
NO response from submitter, so i think i can close this issue.
