Description scagni 2007-10-15 09:33:52 UTC
I am sorry but the new charting module seems still quite buggy.
Open the attached spreadsheet "New chart problem". You will see a chart with two
statistical distributions, one blue and one red.
Go at bottom left and choose to copy the (one and only) sheet to a new file.
Then go the newly created file: for unknown reasons, the chart has lost the red
distribution, while retaining the blue one.
If you check the data range in the copied sheet, the second data series is
actually gone.
Please notice that this second distribution was added "manually" to the chart
after creating it in the original file with the blue distribution only.

->scagni: What do you mean by "quite buggy"? Because of the one bug you stumbled
upon? Or are there more problems? If so, please submit separate bugs for the
other problems.

As far as I could see, this happens only with scatter charts where you have two
series using different x-value ranges, and only with the copy sheet to new
document function. Clipboard seems to work.

When both series use the same amount of data, the red curve is still visible,
though it uses the same x-values than the blue curve. So, this seems to be the
problem here.

I also noticed the following frequent assertion violation message during copy:

Error: ScBroadcastAreaSlotMachine::EndListeningArea: BCA_LISTEN_ALWAYS but none
established From File O:\SRC680\src\sc\source\core\data\bcaslot.cxx at Line 470

adapting summary
Comment 6 bjoern.milcke 2007-10-31 18:44:17 UTC
->NN: Looks like the Copy sheet function would do some old-style stuff with
rectangular ranges, because the "flexible ranges" get lost in this case. Can you
confirm this? The behavior should be similar to clipboard copy.

Ehm... I am sorry for my ineptitude..... could you please clarify what exactly
do you ask me to confirm? Or maybe you request was not directed to me?
Thanks
