Description shelagh 2007-10-24 01:26:22 UTC
Using OOo 2.3 as shipped with Ubunut gutsy.

Steps to take. Make a small sample of data with x-labels and y-labels in talble.
Include and extra row of data such as a title row for the table. Highlight the
table including the title row. Start the chart wizard and make a simple column
chart.

When it's finished and you are out of the chart wizard. Highlight the chart so
that the insert menu shows the statistics menu item. Open that and choose the
error margin radio button. Now finish the chart and see the lines.

Now I realise that the initial fault is with the data, obviously the data
includes too many lines, the title row should be left out. But if I use any of
the other error bar types this problem does not show up. So in my total
ignorance I suggest that some error trapping mechanism isn't working in this one
case.

Comment 6 IngridvdM 2007-10-24 08:56:45 UTC
Confirmed. Looks like there is missing a check for valid data. Thanks for the
report.

Fixed in CWS chart15.
Comment 9 IngridvdM 2007-12-13 16:43:39 UTC
->Thomas, please verify in CWS chart15.
Load the attached bug doc and double click on the charts to see the corrected view.
(Just to avoid confusion: To create a new persistent replacement image you need
to modify the chart. Otherwise the old replacement image is shown again when
leaving the edit mode.)

Comment 11 kla 2007-12-28 10:10:55 UTC
Verified (only the part Error margins from invalid data gives wild results)
As described :
"To create a new persistent replacement image you need
to modify the chart. Otherwise the old replacement image is shown again when
leaving the edit mode." is only for the win Version given, the new replacement
image are shown without modify in Linux Version.
A separate issue will deal with it.
