Description mlaakso 2008-03-16 03:35:20 UTC
About column and line chart type:

The wizard will let you choose only how many lines should be made but it won't
let you choose which data should be drawn as lines. What's the logic there?

Ok, let it make a column and line chart with random data represented as lines.
What then? How you can change the column to line or vice versa in chart editor?
It doesn't seem to be possible.

This feature needs to added in both wizard and editor, or if it's there already
it should be more easily accessable...

This is the way how it should work:
Doubleclick chart
contextmenu "Data Ranges"
Tab "Data Series"
In the left part of the dialog move the series with â–² and â–¼. The upper positions
are shown as columns

This works without problems in OOo2.4rc2. Please try it in your version.

Just tested, works in rc5 too.

I see,

I double clicked the chart but couldn't access contextmenu "Data Ranges". How
did you get to it? Format pulldown menu has the "Data Ranges" but is greyed out...

The functionality is actually 'hidden' in contextmenu "Chart Data Table". If you
you move the series left or right it'll do the trick...

Another thing that I'm missing is to access the chart wizard by clicking "Chart
Type" context menu. It should launch the chart wizard again, or am I wrong?

Issuetracker is not a support desk. You should ask such questions on a mailing
list like users@openoffice.org or use a forum or look at your native language
project.

There are two kind of charts:
(A) Having their own data
(B) Data comes from a table

In your case it is a kind A chart, I use a kind B chart.

The wizard is only available for first generating. Afterwards each setting of
the wizard has its own item in the menus.
