Create a 3D Line Chart
Change the Chart wall the fill to hatching and set a background color.
Save as .xls and reload
Open the Chart wall Dialog again and the formatting hatching is gone and the
Fill switched over to color and the former background are set.

fixed in DEV300/dr63 (OOo 3.1)

note that this happens with all chart elements, e.g. chart background, titles,
data bars, legend, etc (not only 3D line charts).

additional note: Excel does not support transparent hatches, in this case white
background is set.
