Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 89198
Date values on X axis in all charts
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:19:13 UTC
Chart shows axis dates in reverse order from Excel 2007. In Calc's case, turning on the "Reverse direction" option for the axis fixes the issue, but then the dates are reversed in Excel. In Excel, turning on the "Dates in reverse order" again flips the chart axis.
@DR: pls have a look
Could you attach a test document please?

The problem occurs when the dates are in descending (top to bottom) order. Excel still shows the dates from left to right while Chart will show the dates from right to left. If the dates are in ascending order, both Excel and Chart will show identical charts.
Excel supports a special type of X axis in normal (bar/line/area etc) charts, if the source data of the labels consists of dates only. This axis type orders the dates internally in ascending order, similar to the X axis in XY (scatter) charts. OOo chart does not support this type of axis, so it handles the axis labels in order of the source data like simple text labels. Therefore you see the dates in descending order. Workaround: create an XY chart instead of a line chart. DR->BM: do you have an issue for this missing feature?
