Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 89539
Inconsistent naming of Regression / Trend Line in the legend
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:19:43 UTC
Hello, First of all, nice work on the regression lines. There is a minor inconsistency in the name for the line. When you right click the chart to add or delete the line it is referred to as a trendline. However when the entry in the legend is added the line is referred to as a regression line.
Corrected Summary description.
@IHA: a small correction
SBA: This issue has a target set but is still in state of "Unconfirmed". Please re-check with OOo 3.0 or younger if it is (still) valid. Then confirm it or set an appropriate resolution. Thank you.
Confirmed. As UI freeze has passed for 3.1 I change the target to 3.2.
@douglasfcalvert, what would you expect to be displayed in the legend? Maybe: Linear trend of Series A Logarithmic trend of Series B Exponential trend of Series C Power trend of Series D Would that make sense for you? Or do you have other suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Fixed in CWS chart52. The term regression and the term trendline are both avoided now. This has also the advantage that the entries are not so longish. The new labels are specified here: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Chart2/Specifications/ChartLegend
Thomas, please verify in CWS chart52.
The legend key is horizontal now. The legend text is "Linear", "Exponential" , "Logarithmic", or "Power" depending on kind, followed by the data series name in round brackets. Test document will be attached. Verified in CWS chart52.

Take it to watch integration.
All four trend line types have got the specified item text. The solution is correctly integrated in DEV300m101.
