Open the attached spreadsheet (OOo 3 required)
1. Double-click the chart
2. Right-click > Data Ranges... > Data Range; note the data range: $Sheet1.$A$1:$B$7
3. Click the Select data range button
4. Drag over A1:B5 (e.g.)
5. Note the resulting data range is set to only the first cell clicked: $Sheet1.$A$1

This seems not to be specific to Chart, so I set the component to spreadsheet

I checked with "Ooo-dev 3.0.0 Beta Multilingual version German UI WIN XP:
[OOO300m2 (Build9343)]" and can confirm the reported effect. Only the start
cell, but not a range will be selected. Also reproducible with my own documents.
Not reproducible with 2.4.1.

I see this as a show stopper for 3.0

@jes:
I see this wrong behaviour in all "area pickers" in CHART, but nowhere in CALC
(for example: special filter area). Where did you find the reported bug in CALC?

No, I was wrong. I also see the problem with all the pickers in Chart, but not
in Calc.

I tried the Data > Filter > Standard Filter > More > Copy results to: picker,
which showed the same behavior. I forgot that is the /correct/ behavior for that
one ;-) The other pickers I've tested in Calc, that should pick a 2d area, work
fine.

Changed component back to Chart.
