Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 103007
Chart Data Table incorrectly plotted in Standalone x-y scatter data plot
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:19:47 UTC
Note: I don't see how to upload the original files here. I'm not confident that this bug is consistent. 1) In spreadsheet, I make a simple x-y scatter plot of the data listed at the end. Define each set of y data according only to the applicable x data. (Exempi gratia, Y2 only includes x values 0 through 4.) If the whole x and y column for each series is included, then the Chart Data Table will show only 1 x column, and the plot will be correct. 2) I copy (ctrl c) and paste (ctrl v) the figure into a text file. The figure is altered such that the third plot is correct, but the other two are offset by one point. 3) I enter the Chart Data Table and see that the data is still correct. However, there are no "Data Labels" and each series has its own (correct) x column. 4) I try to alter the x-axis data, and no change is observed (y-axis responds fine) Speculation: I think this bug was introduced after OpenOffice.org 3.0 (which is when I started using this feature). I think this is strictly a viewing problem because I see no evidence that the actual data is being altered. Confirmed that pasted chart into odt document is altered after entering edit mode. Documents attached showing changes. TomW OOO310m11 Vista SP2
I can confirm the problem also and also on windows. This is the same problem as already reported with issue 102428. Empty cells in the charts data table are wrongly taken as text content and produce an invalid input for the x-values. If issue 102428 is fixed this will be fixed also. Thanks for the report! *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 102428 ***
