Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 46626
Excel chart export: Manual position and size of all objects lost
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:21:37 UTC
When I create a chart in Calc and export it as Excel (97/200/XP) the formatting of it is lost. That includes: * Any resizing or repositioning of objects inside the Chart. * The Subtitle isn't included at all. I have tested the XLS file in Excel 2003, but it guess that it want work in any Excel version. When I test the generated XLS file in m79, then it also without any formatting. I guess it is the export of the XLS file, that something goes wrong. See attached files/screenshots.
Created attachment 24618 [details] Original Calc file, which has some formatted Chart
Created attachment 24620 [details] Generated Excel file. Chart hasn't got any formatting

I have just confirmed that the issue exists in 1.1.4 also.
.
iha->dr: To you as this looks like a bug in the export.
Not a bug, but simply not implemented, due to various problems with object positioning in Excel charts (this stuff is not documented). Started. To do: Position/size of - Chart titles, axis titles - Diagram area - Legend - Data point labels Excel charts do not have a subtitle. This object cannot be exported to Excel.
