Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 94813
Pie Chart : Crash when empty data label
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:20:01 UTC
Opening the attached .xls file will crash all open OOo windows. After some investigation the problem appears to be the pie chart. If I delete the sheet with the pie chart in it the file will open correctly. As a workaround I've tried to save the file as .xlsx in MSO 2007, but it produces the same error. I've had the issue with OOo 2.4.1 and 3.0 RC4 on Windows XP and someone else has verified the bug with OOo 2.4 and 3.0 RC4 on Linux Fedora 9

In OOO300_m9 On WinXP,I reproduced the issue with the attachment.in addition, a new 2003 Excel file with the sheet "Number of email 2007" in the attachment also crashes ooo. But I created some new 2003 Excel files with all kinds of pie charts, and then opened them in calc, all were opened normally. please see attachment.

I can reproduce the crash when loading the file 'anti span analysis.xls' with OOo 3.0. @weiz. please have a look. The crash seems to be caused by the label placement.

@iha: the patch is submitted. Please let me know your suggestions. Thank a lot!
The corresponding CWS (chart34) is planned for OOo 3.1. Therefore I change the target of this issue also to this target.
@weiz, the patch fixes the crash, thanks! I commited it to CWS chart35. After import the pie chart on sheet 'Number of email 2007' is still not correct. I wrote a follow up issue 97893 for that remaining problem.
@Kla, please verify in CWS chart35. Thanks!
Seen ok in cws chart35 -> verified
